We chose this as we needed a southbound alaska cruise and Sun had competitive price. Sun has been swapping the ports in this summer but noone communicated to us until the check-in. There also it was told as a non-issue. They never admitted the change in port resulted in missing seeing sawyer glacier. Of the restaurants, for a vegetarian, there is really not much choice other than buffet. Everybody provided the best possible service in the buffet since we went there 3 times a day for 6-7 days. Entertainment was average mostly catered to the majority of the passengers which is senior citizens. You have to pay and buy their bottled water and expensive. Internet as expected was expensive. Not having a laundry option is bad; wish there was a self laundry area or at least a package deal instead of the per garment fee which was more expensive than what the garment was worth(in many cases). Except one port(Icy Strait), all other ports were good. Overall, cruising is fun and relaxing. Few things better would have made NCL sun as a best experience but good value for the money.

Cabin Review

Oceanview Porthole Window

The cabin was small as expected for 3 people. The main bed was excellent. I have not seen that kind of mattress anywhere in hotels. The sofa-bed was short in length. The cabin service could have been better. I had to call even for the toilet paper as the steward had not refilled. Good amount of shelf storage, safe. bathroom was ok.

Port Reviews

Skagway

beautiful scenery

Icy Strait

Nothing much to do here. I guess, a new port. Hoonah is the nearest town. We did not go. There was a zipliner, we did not try.
