Cabin: Balcony

I am surprised at the really bad comments. We went as a group of 3 middle aged ladies who shared one balcony cabin, we opted for the sofa bed and two single beds. We had enough room and enough storage space, the cabin was very pleasant and clean. Plenty to do on the ship and children are well catered for. We did not have any of the shore trips organised by the ship although they did say they would price match. We booked our trips before we went with cruising excursions who guarantee you back to the ship on time and were very good. We had freedom dining which as another person did say you book in each night on one deck and then sent down to another for the restaurant a bit bizarre but we got used to it. The staff in the restaurant were always happy and polite and would use your name when speaking with you. The meals could have been a bit more varied but on the whole they were very good. Vegetables are ordered as a side dish and you could order as much or as little as you wanted. If you want to eat Italian or Chinese you had to pay to go into these restaurants which I found on other cruises I have been on these were an option in your dining and you did not have to pay extra for. Entertainment was good and a group called Flick entertained us twice during our cruise and they were the best show I had ever seen on a cruise, so well done Carnival! Some of the entertainment in other areas i.e Piano Bar and Comedy club were very much aimed towards Americans which we did find annoying. On party nights music was more for the younger generation and I did find that people any older than 40 would be stood around the outside watching, this was down to the music played and the group dancing that was organised by the cruise entertainer. The cocktails at the different bars are really good and priced at the same as I would pay at home. Everyone has a problem with gratuities especially the british who are not used to tipping, if you want to take this off your bill you can 2 days before the end of your cruise, you can also take of the bar gratuities which is separate, no-one is made to pay this, it is your choice. Adult sunbathing areas could have been a bit bigger and more sunbeds. On the whole this is a lovely ship and is perfect for families and we had a lovely time.
