This was our first time on Princess - we booked it for the itinerary to Iceland. We were impressed it the executive chef and the quality of the food. We liked the size of the ship it was smaller which means few children and maybe less activities then a larger ship. We met lots of people that we enjoyed talking to.
I'm afraid our weather was not the greatest as it was foggy and overcast so we did not get the long distance views that we would have liked on some of the shore excursions but we enjoyed it. We love cruising and we got to see the wonderful green of the Shetlands and Scotland and the wildness that is Iceland. Huge waterfalls, amazing volcanic areas, big Ice fields and the amazing Shetland ponies and Icelandic horses.
We were impress with the embarkation and disembarkation it was handled smoothly and there was no waiting.
The mini suites on the 8th deck are mostly under the pool and buffet. We picked cabin 8000 because it was under the Internet room. This made the room maybe quieter from above but there is a fire door to the bridge crew area. There is traffic through this door when the crew goes to eat and during shift changes.
We also have a problem with smoke from the smoking area on the pool deck in the hallway and in our room. After complaining twice the ventilation did get fixed so that the smoke was no longer in our room.
We were told that the other side of the ship in the front can have the problem too if the windows are open on the pool deck smoking area and you are on your balcony.
Having the suites on 8 is difficult because you have to decide on noise from chairs being moved around by the pool or in the buffet. Azamara and Oceania have this same small ship design. We like the size but if you want the larger suite you don't get the quietness with a veranda on 7.
Not sure if this is considered a MB ME or MC cabin
This is a lovely place that we have been to before on another cruise. Just a pristine Norwegian Fjord. We took the trip down the fjord to the area of the fruit trees. It's just so pretty here.
We stayed overnight in Dover which is much less expensive then staying in London before the cruise. Did not have time to see the castle or experience Dover other then an overnight stay.
