Old ship with excellent new decor. 2nd time on Eden this year. 21st overall cruise. Problems this cruise started with noisy AC in the cabin. Told reception that us and next door had same issue. They moved them and didn't get back to us. The Pantry had AC issues for 2 days and we just sweated while having breakfast, which was inedible at times. Breakfast much better at the Waterfront. Was going for a swim at 11am one day and no towels were on pooldeck. Had to walk back to the cabin. You can't book a regular time for dinner each night so have to line up on Day 1 to book the first 3 nights. I do like Angelos and Dragon Lady but the menus are limited. The Waterfront is like a good club restaurant with average waiter service. Lining up was minimal on most nights. The entertainment is average. The Piano player was woeful and could not hold a tune. Getting a spot in a Spa was too difficult. Larger ships have more places to find a quiet spot and have more options during sea days. On 2 nights we were woken after midnight asking for ship staff to go to deck whatever. One was for smoke. One was for a fight close to our cabin. 15 mins after the first announcement the Captain apologised for the disturbance. Other cruise lines don't share problems with passengers but use "in house" communications.

Look....for those weighing up what cruise line to book, I say, look at the Ship Rating. 41% for the Eden says it all. There's reasons why. It doesn't mean you won't enjoy MOST of the cruise. We did. BUT just be aware that other ships will probably give you a MUCH better overall experience.

DON"T DO A SHIP TOUR. Or 36MYR(A$13) to the famous Skybridge in 30mins. Set cost. Can get dropped on way back at Pantai Cenang main town for 30MYR for shopping and walk 50m behind shops to beach for swim/lunch/parasailing/etc. 12MYR for 10min taxi to ship. OR can walk 800m from dock to beach where longtail boats do 4 hour Island Hopping tour for about 40MYR. See Island of the Pregnant Maiden, Eagle feeding, swim, see monkeys, parasail, have a banana boat ride. Great trip for a fraction of what the ship offers.
