Arrived in Southampton by train and took taxi to Mayflower terminal. Cases were taken from us by a man with a trolley as soon as we stepped out of the car. Didn't see those again until later that day when they were placed outside our cabin. Embarkation process was quick and efficient - we were on the ship by 2.00 pm even though our allotted slot was 2.30 pm.
Cabins were ready so we could go straight to them before setting off to explore. Our cabin steward introduced himself and gave us a few pointers about the ship. He was extremely friendly and helpful - couldn't fault him in any way. Our cabins were kept very clean. General cleanliness on the ship was good, however there were one or two places where floors could have been given a thorough clean. Carpets in cabins have seen better days.
Evening meals were adequate. Staff in the Oriental restaurant were exemplary.

Inside Stateroom
Cabins are in need of a refit. Carpets very tired. Technology on the TV needs to be updated. Very slow and laborious process to check your online account etc. Soundproofing was surprisingly good. We couldn't hear too much from the hallways or the adjacent cabins. Perhaps we were lucky with that and had quiet people close to us. Overall cabins are comfortable but definitely need to be modernised.

Another scenic port. Nothing to see and explore. Just breathtaking scenery which is what you're in Norway for.
Bergen
Really enjoyed Bergen. So much history and lots of places to walk around and to get off the beaten track. Fish market is well worth a visit. Expensive but worth it.
Southampton
