Had an enjoyable cruise. I feel like Adventure doesn't know if it's a charming smaller ship or one of the mega ships...it's stuck in between. It has a promenade, but no name brand stores (like Michael Kors on Indy). It has a Giovanni's Table, but no Chops. It has a cafe, but the pizza place is jammed inside it. I stead of a Karaoke bar, the singing bounced around 3 different locations at multiple start times...weird. Quest was on night 5!? Our C&A event was on day 6!? One too early and one too late it seemed. Overall, the service in the dining room and the bars was excellent and the production acts were OK...not the quality of the larger ships (although the comedians were great). I chose this ship more for the itinerary, and usually prefer Freedom or Oasis class, but I'd do it again because the positives outweighed the speed bumps.
I'd never been to Bonaire, Aruba or Curaçao and found something fun to do in each. Privately booked off ship excursions each time because I hate the 30 person ship excursions. St. Maarten is like an old friend...always easy to pass the day, although it was weird that the ship would dock on a Sunday when the shops and restaurants are mostly closed.
Nice JS cabin with a pretty standard layout. Close to midship lifts/stairs. Just far enough from the hump that it didn't really impact the view or our privacy...wouldn't move closer to the hump unless I was on it.
We stayed a few days before the cruise. The LaConcha resort was very nice in the Condado Beach section...close to old San Juan and the cruise pier. Nice restaurants nearby. Recommend Mojitos in Old San Juan.
Love the island but was disappointed we went on a Sunday and many shops and restaurants were closed. Breakfast at St Rose Bar was good. Hung on the beach and JetSkied for a while, then taxied to Maho Beach for some of the larger jet arrivals.
We day passed at the Grand Occidental all-inclusive. Highly recommended. Large pool. Clean beach with plenty of chairs and umbrellas. Multiple bars and restaurants including a well stocked lunch buffet. Our pass allowed us full use of pools/beach, a foam swim mat, food and drinks, and indoor wifi from 9a-6p.
We privately booked the shark, turtle and stingray feeding snorkel trip at the Sea Aquarium. The ship excursion went at 9. We went at 2:30. Only 6 of us...our guide said the ship tour had 30. A great experience...loads of fun.
