Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Review by crusingnut
- Sail Date: July 2016
- Destination: Baltic Sea
- Cabin Type: Concierge Class
This was our first time on the Silhouette ship which is beautiful and easy to navigate around. As of now, it is our favorite ship! Embarkation went smoothly, the fastest we have experienced. We went to the MDR for the Concierge lunch which was very good, highly recommend the lamb. By 1pm the cabins were ready another quick turnaround. Some of our luggage was there when we arrived. Our steward was excellent, best we have ever had.
We had traditional dining @ 6 for the 10 of us. The food was very good and the service was excellent! We enjoy traditional dining because you have the same staff every night and they know everyone's likes & dislikes after the first day. One of our group always like to have a glass of ice to refresh her drinks and there would be a glass of ice at her seat every night without asking. We visited The Tuscan Grill, Qusine, & Lawn Grill, we were very happy with all of them.
We thought the entertainment was excellent. The entertainers that were brought on board at several of the ports were excellent as well. There was a nice variety of entertainment and was some of the best we have seen throughout our cruising days.
Disembarkation went smoothly for us, we were in no hurry since we were staying in AMS that night. One of the couples did sign up with X for transport to the airport from the ship and they said it was great.
At the end of our cruise our group talked about the experience, none of us could come up with a negative experience. It was in our eyes one of the best cruises we have gone on. We would sail the Silhouette again in a heartbeat!!!

AmsterdamMark is the owner and was our guide, he was better than excellent! One of our best tours on the cruise. He was energetic and a wealth of information. He was amazing as was AMS. We loved our time there and wished could've had more time to tour. His site is http://thatdamguide.com/red-light-district-tour/View All 780 Amsterdam Cruise Port Reviews

Anne Frank HouseIf you buy your tickets prior to the cruise you just walk right up to check in with your printed tickets. No standing in line and there was a big line @ 2:30 waiting to buy tickets there which didn't open till 3:30. There was at least a 2 hour wait to get in if you didn't have tickets.View All 89 Anne Frank House Reviews
Canal TourPaap has a very nice boat that can accommodate approx. 12 people. We wanted to see some of the sites during daylight but also wanted to see the evening lights around the bridges, which were beautiful. We started @ 9:30pm w/sunset around 10, it was perfect timing. Highly recommend him his web site is http://www.rederijpaping.nl/#_=_View All 262 Canal Tour Reviews

Windmills Driving TourWe took the "Marken, Volendam and the Windmills" it was very good. It covered a lot of area so were quick visits to each but we didn't have a lot of time since we got off the ship and went to meet the tour. It was worth it and very inexpensive.View All 32 Windmills Driving Tour Reviews

ParisIt was a 3 hour drive each way but had never been to Paris. The bus ride was very comfortable w/one stop on the way. We saw the best of Paris Napoleon’s Arc de Triomphe, Opera House, Concorde Square, and Louvre Museum, & of course the Eiffel Tower. Then, board a boat for a relaxing cruise down River Seine past the Notre Dame Cathedral. This cruise surprised me, lots to see from the river. It was a great 10.5 hour day and worth every minute of it. We had free time to get a bite and shop before boarding the bus to return to the ship. Our guide was very knowledgeable. Highly recommend/View All 57 Paris Reviews
City TourThe first day started @ 2pm (docked) too the ferry which had 3 island stops, one which was the U-Boat (free) tour. Beautiful day and carefree day. web site is http://www.merseyferries.co.uk/. Afterwards we walked around Albert Dock, where the ship docks, lots to see and do there. The second day we did the HOHO bus run by the same company as the ferry. We bought tickets prior to the cruise and got a small discount by buying both tickets. The HOHO was good got to see the city and visit The Cavern where the Beatles first performed. Glad we spent our day and half the way we did felt we got the most out of it.View All 14 City Tour Reviews
St. Peter Port (Guernsey)We took a 3 hour walking tour with Annette Henry. She was excellent, we have never taken a tour quite like hers and so glad we did. She gives you the information in a theatrical and story book way that keeps your interest, instead of just reciting historical facts. It was one of the best tours we took. https://annettehenrytours.gg/#_=_View All 268 St. Peter Port (Guernsey) Cruise Port Reviews
