Wanting a one week cruise in the Caribbean, a friend and I found MSC Divina through our travel agent. Price was excellent for two balcony cabins - solo rate only $1212. We had cabins on Cupido Deck 13 with Juliet balconies which are small but with a lovely view at the stern of the ship. One deck above was direct access to the buffet, two decks up was the infinity pool.

Everything about the Divina was great. It is a beautiful ship with very good food. Staff was polite and always smiling. We purchased the specialty dining package which included one dinner at the Galaxy Restaurant on Deck 16, where we sailed at sunset and enjoyed both the grand view and wonderful selection of food. The Eataly Steakhouse was the second dining place. It does not look like a steakhouse, with plastic chairs, paper napkins and a view of the side of the lifeboats. Food was average, but the atmosphere left a lot to be desired. The dining package was $45, and for another $5 you could add their specialty pizza restaurant. Well worth the charge! Neither my friend nor I wanted a huge pizza, and the waiter suggested we use one coupon and select half of the pizza with each of our favorites, then return the next evening and have our second pizza split for our favorite toppings.

Entertainment was wonderful as well. Wine package was inexpensive when ordered ahead of time on line. Best way to go! This first time with MSC will not be the last!

Cabin Review

Balcony Stateroom

Cabin B3

Well appointed cabin with everything you could ask for. Unusual shower door combination gave more space in the bathroom. Lots of closet and shelf space everywhere. Room steward Gomez kept the area spotless.

Port Reviews

Miami

Flew in from Tampa and took a cab to the port. Flat rate of $27 seemed to apply in both directions for two people with two large suitcases and hand luggage.

St. Maarten

We were in this port earlier this year and did not find it too interesting. Great for folks wanting to do the beach scene. Not too good for seniors.

San Juan

Another "been there, done that" port. First timers have the most fun touring the fort and old town. It is always a nice place to just walk around.

Nassau

With three large ships docked here, the area was over crowded. The really hot weather didn't add to the day. Much better for a winter cruise when the temperature drops several degrees.
