In keeping with many other comments there were a lot of good bits, and some less so.

Starting with the good, embarkation at Southampton. Remarkably swift and efficient. On board 10 minutes after climbing out of the taxi. Wow. Cabin - excellent, comfortable bed and loved the balcony (can't think I'd cruise without one from now on!). Storage space not too bad, although have to say that soap in a wrapper and shampoo from a dispenser in the shower was a little short of expectation. No other hotel type bathroom pleasures.

Housekeeping attendant was first class, Miguel Trinidad - what a name, what a guy. Kept the cabin spotless and immaculately presented with some nice towel architecture from time to time!

Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Balcony

Cabin E1

Decent size, good storage (as long as you don't over pack!), very comfortable bed, loved the balcony for "getting away from it all".

Bathroom only had soap in a wrapper and a plastic shampoo dispenser in the shower. I expected a lot more for the price of the "deluxe oceanview stateroom".

Port Reviews

Gibraltar

Definitely a do it yourself kind of place. Go up the Rock by taxi (or walk - we did!). Cable car is a nice idea but queues were ridiculous, and not cheap. And find time to visit a shop or two in town to stock up on all those things RCI don't provide - coffee and pringles (or indeed seemingly any form of crisps!).

Nice

Nice and Monaco are the main attractions. If you do decide to amble around Villefranche sur Mer itself, it won't take long!

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Done Rome, wandered around Civitavecchia. Nice down by the sea.

Courtesy bus will take you across the port where you have then to run the gauntlet of 15-20 Italian ladies touting their Rome tours at you, after which you're free to wander Civitavecchia or head for the train station.

Genoa

Walked the town, took a City Hop On, Hop Off. The old town is riddled with alleys that stink of urine...and I've never seen so many dogs. Enough said!

The city tour on the bus resulted in seeing better areas!

Malaga

Lovely city, in full festival mode too. Great place to wander - or do another City Bus Hop On, Hop off. Rather predictably there always seems to be a stop near the port exit..........!
