My mother and I thought this trip was a great deal. Overall, we paid a little over $450 (including our excursions) for the two night cruise. This is my first cruise and I was very excited to travel to the beautiful Bahamas island. I've heard so much about how everything about cruises are great - the food, entertainment, and scenery. Boy, was this a let down for my mother and I.

Let's start with the positives, my mother (who is 45) and I LOVED the entertainment. The dancers, cirque, comic, and magician were all fantastic! The drinks were also fantastic and worth the alcohol package ($45 for 10 beverages). The Lucayan Resort was beautiful and there was plenty of space to enjoy myself on the beach, pool, hot tub, and lunch facility.

Now, for the negatives. I could not WAIT to return home. I literally felt like I had gone to FAT CAMP. The food was terrible. Everything we attempted to eat did not taste as I expected and was cold majority of the time. The only thing worth eating is the burger, hotdog, and fries (and this is only served from 11a-6pm). Otherwise, my mother and I filled up on CANDY that we purchased prior to boarding (thank GOD for my Uber driver who suggested buying snacks first). Another negative, just as everyone else mentioned, there are hidden fees. The janitorial staff entered my room at all times of the day, even while I was present. I never requested my room to be cleaned. Before leaving, I was charged nearly $100 for cleaning services that I never asked for!! The staff was rude and seemed to be tired and frustrated. It was just unpleasant. All of my fun occurred while OFF the ship while at the resort. Freeport is definitely NO place I'll ever vacation to again. If I travel to the Bahamas, it will only be to Naussau.
