We chose this cruise for the opportunity to cruise the Hawaiian Islands. Initially, we were a little skeptical concerning the Pride of America based upon the many negative reviews we read on Cruise Critic. However, once we embarked on the Pride, our concern quickly evaporated and our smiles were glowing more and more each day.
This was one of the best cruises we have ever been on. It was, FANTASTIC......
The staff were super friendly and provided excellent service. Our cabin was on deck ten. This turned out to be wonderful as we could lounge on the balcony without ever having the sun in our eyes for the entire voyage. It was one floor from the Aloha Cafe and two floors from the "Splash Academy", which our son loved. He said, the activities were out of this world and truly enjoyed his counselors.
Yes, the cabin was small. With a little ingenuity, we were able to navigate the room with no trouble. Suitcases under the bed. Life preservers on the side of the sofa bed. This created extra space for our clothes to be put on the top shelf of the closet, which also had a light.
And, if you needed to iron your clothes, all you had to do was ask your room attendant. Nice.
Our cabin was SPOTLESS. Out attendant, Hurley.....he is the BEST!!!
Never had to ask him for anything extra. Always greeted us by name and with a smile. Ice bucket always filled. Towels always at the ready. Turn down service on time.....
Nice to sit on the balcony and not be seared by the sun.....along with total privacy. Wonderful. The shower was GREAT. Fantastic pressure, never a problem during the entire cruise. Room service in the morning was excellent. Always on time.
We stayed at the North Shore, Turtle Bay Resort prior to the Cruise.
Excellent resort. The real Hawaii, not the "rush hour" at Waikiki....
Worth the drive......
