after numerous cruises with other cruise lines , people had always said try princess you wont be disappointed , so we give it a go , from the moment we arrived at the port the embarkation was very well organised we were on-board within 10 - 15 minutes maximum , the ship itself is stunning a nice mix with modern and traditional décor , we had booked an inside cabin which was on deck 12 , we are very lucky having stayed in various types of cabins from suites / balconies pretty much every different type except the penthouse , we found the ship pretty straight forward to find our way round and we soon found our cabin , it was fine spotlessly clean plenty of wardrobe space no complaints at all , within 30 minutes our cases were delivered to our cabin and we met our cabin steward ,

the first thing that struck me was all the staff on this ship appear to be so genuinely happy in their work and that goes for every member of staff we met ( which is really important to me ) we went up to the pool area my first impression again was really nice , one thing I would add the children's pool area where you have the main pool is separated by a water feature (water fountains ) which although are very nice I personally think it takes up too much space and the space would of been better used to make another pool , we spent our days by the adult pool the retreat area as it is known by, what a lovely space everything you could possibly need the bar staff were excellent especially Kelly making his cocktails , so far everything fine ,

we chose freedom dining as it suits us , the first night we ate there no problem the food was very nice , the service was fine , the next night it all went downhill we went down for our meal about 7.30pm and were told there was a wait , no problem we were given a pager and after about 30 minutes out table was ready , we sat down and all as I can say the service was the poorest I have ever received on any cruise ship , but my wife asked not to complain so I agreed , the following night very similar after a 40 minute wait for a table we sat down and it took another 40 minutes before we had had our starter then roughly another 40 minutes for our main course , this is no fault of the poor waiters who were running round like headless chickens , there were not enough staff to cope with all the passengers, on top of serving you your meals they take your drink order as well I felt really sorry for them , but I thought if I don't raise the issue nothing will be done so eventually I asked to speak to the restaurant manager who agreed with me, he couldn't be more apologetic I did stress it was no fault of the waiters just not enough of them , he informed me that the ship normally has 3600 passengers on-board but this cruise we had 4000 passengers and at 8.oclock that evening they had 2800 passengers wanting to eat in the restaurant which is madness , as I said he couldn't be more apologetic and asked me to ask for him every evening , from that moment on everything was how it should be on a cruise ,
