This was our second sail on the PG....our first being only a 7 night cruise almost five years prior. We booked the 10 day itinerary because my husband wanted to dive Rangiiroa and Fakarava. Had friends sail with us and we were in Category B on Deck 8....staterooms 815 and 816.
The service from butler, cabin steward, bartenders, marina personnel was impeccable. You only had to ask once for something and it appeared. Shernan was our butler.....we had him five years ago so was nice to see he was still there.
HOWEVER......we encountered some serious mechanical mishaps on this voyage. Sailing out of Bora Bora, the Captain turned the ship around because we were having mechanical issues. We sat there for 4 days while they flew a technician in from France to work on the ship. Therefore, we missed the two islands we booked the cruise to do. Missed two islands and a day at sea. Yes, we were in Bora Bora (as the captain reminded us....it would have been much worse had we been at sea). It took the technician 2 1/2 days to get to us.
Our suite was very comfortable. Not as large as you would expect on new ships but certainly well furnished....many wood tones.....plenty of storage....large balcony.
Missed the island because of mechanical issues.
Did not take an excursion but spent the day prior to cruise at the Manava Resort. Nice small hotel...beautiful beach. On return we booked a day room at the Intercontinental. Showing her age.....needs refurbishing. Did have an excellent buffet and Tahitian show before going to airport.
