Free Style dining and recommendation from friends. First of all we received notification of them cancelling our last port, Skagway, two days before leaving, because they had maintenance to do AFTER we sailed for 5 days. We had to come back to Seattle a day early and sit at the dock, casino closed, stores closed and they tried to tell us our drink package had expired. Wrong! The maintenance wasn't because anything was broke, they just decided to do it on our time and our dime. At first they were going to give us $100.00 credit to our cabin, whoopee dang!. After everyone on board complained they then decided to give us 1 days worth of our ticket. Everyone lost their excursions and the time in some ports was shortened. The customer service on board was a joke, They weren't capable to give correct information and directions. They were useless. Not all of the passengers received emails about our cruise being shortened, so needless to say, there were a lot of irate passengers on board. Sounded like a mutiny in the making. When we arrived, a day early, back in Seattle, it looked like at least a third of the passengers were disembarking with their luggage. They said they would pay for a hotel before they stay another night on that ship. We had a balcony cabin on deck 11, which was adequate, but not the cleanest. Dining was not too bad, service was slow. I can't comment on excursions because they were cancelled. Would I ever cruise with them again, NO. They couldn't pay me to sail on one of their ships again. Entertainment wasn't that great either, and they only had one store on board, which they closed 2 days early. This was the 5th time I have cruised, other experiences were great.
Needed upgrades, old and somewhat worn.
Most excursions cancelled. We took the shuttle into downtown and walked by jewelry store after jewelry and finally threw in the towel and returned to the ship. Very short time in that port. Hard to do much when they shorten your time.
We never saw Skagway! Norwegian cancelled that port for us, so missed our excursions. Paid for 4 ports, got 3. Not good.
This was our third time in Victoria. It's a beautiful small city with so many things to see. I would highly recommend it, but make sure your cruise line gives you enough time to see it. Norwegian doesn't.
We came into Seattle a couple of days before our cruise to see the sights, so we didn't need an additional day. We spent the 6th day of our cruise sitting on the ship with everything, casino & store, closed.
