An average cruise! Not great, not bad. Been on approx 8 cruises now and this was the only one that fitted the exact dates. The embarkation was excellent...best ever I think. The cabin was fine; you only really sleep there so we sent for a cheap option. The ship has plenty to offer for kids (although I went alone with the wife this time).

The food was reasonable albeit rather limited. No real choice at breakfast but a decent variety at dinner and I appreciate the sugar free option. The main waiter was exceptional, his assistant dreadful although he had a great personality and that helped!

Drinks are expensive with their 18% extra charge plus extra tax if in territorial waters. Paying in dollars was a pain! The casino ...avoid if you can. Payouts were very poor I thought.

Port Reviews

Lisbon

Interesting visit albeit the military museum refused me entry

Malaga

My fav place and will be looking to return here next year.

Genoa

Dirty and a crime zone! We were harassed constantly by the pro beggars. Yuk!!

Florence (Livorno)

Too far! 150 mil round trip. Stay local and get the venicular lift to the top for wonderful views!

Rome (Civitavecchia)

Got the coach to Rome. They come round to offer this.....not part of RCI. Cost 19 euros which was fine for a return.

Nice

Stayed locally on the beautiful beaches

Gibraltar

Interesting place if you are keen on military history. 34 miles of tunnels and the most defended place on earth in world war two. It was never occupied despite major plans to do so by the German forces. Just impossible without committing crazy amounts of resources

Southampton

I know Southampton ......getting off the boat quickly to be met by no trains, replacement buses, no staff and no help! Embarrassing for us Brits to explain to our guests.......
