This was a family cruise (13 people) and the trip to Alaska was indescribable. Leaving from Seattle was great. We arrived early to tour the area and experience a snapshot of Seattle. The embarkation process was welcoming and warm. The ship is nice (dated) but nice. We entered our room (with balcony) and there was a good amount of space - closets, bathrooms and queen bed. The balcony was also an good size (other ships have larger balconies).

Cleanliness - Our room had a soiled robe hanging in the closet (beyond disgusting); dirty q-tips were found under the bed; multiple small patches (antinausea) found stuck to the shelves by the TV and the coffee machine. The rug needed to be vacuumed from the dust along the wall and the bathrooms (general commentary among many of us) all smelled like urine. No trash receptacles in the theater. Inevitably you sit on a drink bottle, glass or food.

Infection Control - The guise behind true infection control practices. Most of the guests had their personal water bottles and were filling them at the water fountain contaminating the water. I video taped and reported it to the food director who said "we cannot control everyone" yet they had staff at the entrance with water bottles singing 'washee washee'. Never saw staff cleaning elevators or handles as we have on our past cruises - cleaning and disinfecting.
