First time we've cruised with Carnival and I think it will be the last. Nice ship but lacking the wow factor. The dining system is crazy - you have to go and book a time 15 minutes before you want dinner. Sometimes the queue was so long to reserve your allotted time that you ended up having dinner later than you wanted. Who's idea was that? No adults only swimming pool. The serenity area which is adults only was lovely but impossible to get a sunbed unless you got up at 6 a.m. and why isn't there an adults only pool in an adults only area? Impossible to get into one of the pools because it was filled with children and again, impossible to get a sunbed on "days at sea" unless you got up at 6 a.m. Taxed on EVERYTHING!!! $4.69 for a bottle of water in your cabin? Disgusting! Food was average. The Lido Marketplace for breakfast was the same limited menu every single day. Lunch was not very appetising. The Horizons Lounge for dinner was nice but very slow service and again lacked the wow factor. We refused the drinks package at $600 per adult; shocking amount of money. The children's drinks package was for juice or fizzy drinks not water; water had to be paid for by both adults and children. Are you encouraging obesity and rotten teeth for our kids? Lovely cabins and beds were very very comfortable. Staff work very hard and were all lovely. Ports of call were excellent but we did not book the tours with Carnival, far too expensive. How can you justify your prices? Even their shuttle bus from ship to port was $17 per person when the local bus was $5 return. Sorry Carnival but we will return to Royal Carribean in future, definitely a cut above Carnival.
Cabin was excellent, very comfy beds, plenty of wardrobe space, good size bathroom with powerful shower. Small balcony but sufficient.
