Our family of 7 had a terrific cruise and really enjoyed the ship. Sailing in August with tropical weather is always a bit of a gamble and though we had some showers - it was a great trip. The ship was laid out well but not big enough to get lost. We arrived at the port about 10:15 and were onboard in less than an hour - all 7 of us in 3 different cabins with 5 different accounts set up. Easiest!! Our junior suite cabin (1544) was close to the stairs but very far forward. Same level as the bridge and you could easily see folks on the bridge at times. Our cabin steward J was attentive, responsive and stealth. Very pleasant and obviously there but didn't interact a lot. We enjoyed him and felt he was terrific!! Really enjoyed the entertainment on board. Jeffrey Arpin was the cruise director - very entertaining guy. Karen Grainger was a female impressionist (not impersonator), Nick Lewin was a magician and John Wing was the comedian - very very funny guy. Saturday Night Fever was great and "In the Air" was amazing. Very talented cast. Also enjoyed the ice show. Really really good!! We had late seating for dinner and adored Carlos as our waiter. Our Assistant Waiter just returned from break and he was not back in the swing of things yet. Felt like our waiter was working alone at time. My husband and I were traveling with 5 young adults - 19 - 23. Only two are ours! After the show but before dinner each evening, we enjoyed meeting in the guitar lounge and listening to the classical guitarist - Manuelito. Bought his CDs - just beautiful!! Close to the photo shop and picture opportunities. Purchased the all picture package in advance felt that was really good value. Some of the pictures are marvelous!! Always able to find pool loungers and a good spot but the pool. Some chair hogging but not bad at all. Used the solarium hot tubs since there were 1100 children on our cruise and they occupied the outdoor hot tubs. No worries - ready for a break from the sun anyway! Enjoyed the drink specials and all the bar staff were great. Each staff we interacted with was quite pleasant and seemed to be happy we were there. The galley tour was terrific and the special champagne lunch was delicious. There were options but we got the 6 oz filet - wow! It was perfect. We found the meals to be good - some items were not at the proper temperature, the seed rolls were the best bread ever but had to ask for more each evening - we attributed the minor issues at dinner with the disengaged assistant waiter. Attended the loyalty cocktail hour and enjoyed hearing the captain. Enjoyed his daily announcements. Very familiar delivery style and engaging. Went to Paradise Beach in Cozumel and swam with the Stingrays in Cayman - both on our own. The kids went on a ship sponsored beach tour in Jamaica. All of the tours were good and well run. Disembarkation via self-assist was very good. Waited on deck 4 (outside but undercover) for about 30 minutes and were released. Brief wait at customs but were were outside and on the road by 9am. So easy! We live in Houston and we're spoiled!! We were home by 10:30am. WOW!!! We've been on 8+ cruises - most on RCI. Always enjoy the line and staff. We would definitely sail on Liberty again.

Terrific end of summer break!

Cabin Review

Cabin 1544
We feel a JS is just perfect for us. Love the additional bathroom space and bathtub is a treat!! The walk in closet is terrific - great to just place all your clothes - lots of hanging space, shelving for folded items and 26 pairs of shoes. Just kidding.... We had room for the suitcases at the bottom.

The expanded floor space and balcony is great for hosting our kids/friends at sail away. Enough room to walk around comfortably with 7 adults! The kids were in 2 oceanview cabins on deck 2. Three girls in one cabin and 2 boys in another. They said plenty of room for them - I didn't visit!

Hard to beat a junior suite! Cabin attendant was perfect too!

Enjoyed the beach and pool area. Staff was attentive and lunch was delicious. Very resort type feel. Didn't feel crowded. Very clean and well maintained. We arrived about 8:30am and were the first group of so to arrive. About 15 from the port areas - taxi to/from was very, very easy. Lots of availability so no trouble at all!

Sailing out the sandbar on a catamaran was the best! There were about 25 people on our boat with Chip and Chris. Terrific sail and the stingrays came right up to them. Wonderful experience. Chip and Chris were very helpful and accommodating. Enjoyed laying on the "trampoline" over the water on the way out and back in. Snorkeling was very easy and lots of big fish. Highly recommend Stingray Sailing.
