I really, really do despair at the stupidity of some of the people who write cruise reviews. I was on the same cruise as the previous reviewer - celebrating my 60th birthday and had absolutely none of the issues he or she faced. We were in a Queens Grill suite on this occasion but have travelled in regular staterooms with access to the Britannia Restaurant many times and have never, ever had a problem that has not been resolved straight away. In terms of the food and the service (or anything!!) - if there is a problem then at least have the courtesy (and intelligence) to bring it the attention of someone on board with sufficient seniority to do something about it and afford them the opportunity to put it right. I always do - and they always do!! . Whining and whinging three weeks later on an internet review says much more about you than it does about the Cunard Line. Similarly, in terms of the staff I'm afraid that I'm a great believer in the old adage that "behaviour breeds behaviour", so because of the way I treat people I have never experienced problems in that department either. Your cabin, 8126. Yes, it is overlooked by 8130. Did you not do your homework? Did you not look at a deck plan? And if the answer is that you were on a discounted fare where Cunard allocate the cabin then you now know why it was discounted don't you.

Anyway - to our experience. Swift check-in, swift boarding and luggage in our suite when we arrived - some 40 minutes in total from stopping the car and being greeted by the representative from CPS Parking. First rate !! Good size suite with whirlpool bath and separate walk in shower. Separate WC and wash basin. Absurdly comfortable bed and a great service and attention to detail from the steward. Large balcony with two recliners and foot rests. Room service, on the one occasion that we tried it, was very good and better than most hotels . Food, wine and service in the Queens Grill where all exactly as we expected – excellent - an extensive daily menu and also an a la carte. The wine list is very varied and is set with a price range wide enough to accommodate everyone's budget. Pre-dinner cocktails or a night cap in the Commodore Club were a delight each evening as it always has been on Queen Victoria and Queen Mary 2. The theatre - which any provincial city or town would be delighted to replicate - was to the usual Cunard standard; high. No, I/we did not like all of it - but that was down to our tastes - not a reflection on the quality of the artistes. We did not eat in the Lido. We never have and never will. So all in all a very good 4 day celebration. The ship was in fine form as was everyone we engaged with. We will keep going back to Cunard whilst they continue to offer great service and great value for money

Cabin Review

Penthouse

Cabin Q4

Good size cabin (twice the square footage of regular staterooms - and of course double the balcony width. Very good sized bathroom. Whirlpool bath and walk in shower with glass door - not a horrid curtain. Separate WC and wash basin.
