“Worse things happen at sea.” They did. BE WARNED. . . . .
We selected the Fred Olsen cruise to The Baltic 1) because it coincided with our 30th Wedding anniversary and 2) We would be in St Petersburg for 2 days the highlight of our trip. As a bonus there will be a gym, a library, self service coffee/tea bar. What more could you want?
Here is what we experienced:
Cabin adequate - large enough when they had removed our cases. Big picture window. Air conditioning very desiccating if you were stuck there for for 60 hours on the trot because of Norovirus.
Bathroom with a bath and a toilet that overflowed raw sewage onto the floor once and blocked twice. It is a vacuum system and lots of cabins had similar problems. The safe stopped working just as we tried to retrieve our passports. Fixed in the nick of time.
Lots of storage, hanging space and drawers. Cabin service was very good.
The cabin was no worse than a well used 3 star hotel room. In 13 days the carpet was not hoovered and no explanation offered.
We were confined to our cabin as one of us caught Noro Virus. I'm told that it was a good stop over - can't say - never saw it.
This wasn't a port of call we just left from here and returned from here.
