Fantasia: the Very Good and the Not So Good

Trip Details
  • Sail Date: Aug 2016
  • Destination: the Western Mediterranean
  • Cabin Type: Balcony Stateroom

Ship layout was excellent with many stylish lounges and bars with live entertainment in many. Cabin was the best we have had by a mile...Spacious and a balcony. Dining room food was good with an interesting menu every day Staff throughout the ship were very polite and helpful. We had an 'all inclusive' package in our booking which was just as well as the drinks were very expensive. (5 euros for a small whisky).

The downside of the trip was the buffet food area which was crawling with young children running around. The trips were also expensive so if you are going on one of their cruises make sure your budget can stand the extras. We visited 6 different ports in 7 days which meant that there were no days at sea. I would suggest that passengers should be made aware before going ashore , especially in Naples, that pick pockets and street muggings are quite common place. My wife got her necklace grabbed by a young man who immediately jumped on to a scooter and disappeared. They are obviously well traind in this art!
