Our Alaskan cruise on Celebrity Solstice was the vacation of a lifetime. The ship was beautiful. The crew was always smiling and always willing to help. Enjoyed the Glass Show very much. Weather could not have been better - sunny every day. Enjoyed the Mendenhall Glacier/Whale Watch tour in Juneau. Crew on the whale watch tour said there was only a 20% chance to view the Orca Whales. Not only did we see them, we also saw a Orca family feeding on a seal. Also saw Humpback Whales bubble feeding. Shows in the Theater were entertaining. Really enjoyed the comedian, the presentations by both naturalist Brent Nixon and Beyond the Podium with Miss Amanda. The Tribute to Whitney Houston was excellent. Something Celebrity should work on is how they manage the pictures that are taken by the Ship Photographers. Maybe when guests check in they are given a scannable card with a number, thus when they are looking for their Photos they are presented in a folder of some type - they are not having to look at hundreds of photos that are just grouped by the date that they are taken.
Our cabin was Concierge Class - would not recommend this stateroom category - as the only "extras" were a welcome bottle of sparkling wine plus daily afternoon snacks (fruit and canapes that were not very tasty). We were supposed to have an Exclusive Pre-Departure Lounge, however did not see one possibly because after we checked in we were able to get right on the ship. We never did see a pillow menu which was another one of the perks of concierge class. We did start out the week with two hairdryers in the room - but halfway through the cruise one disappeared.
