We did B2B cruises, so was on the Grandeur for 14 days. I have a list of things for the stateroom attendant that I leave on the bed on the first night. Foremost is I request a lighter blanket for the bed. One can never get a room (hotel or ship!) cool enough to warrant the heavy duvets that are always on the beds. With that, we were quite comfortable. We had an aft balcony (JS) and were somewhat disappointed with the soot/ash that was a constant issue. Our hope is that if/when a Scrubber is installed, it will help minimize this issue. We don't take advantage of many of the activities/shows on a ship. We get a balcony to be away from the constant noise and activity. We were disappointed when one of our neighbors (on the 30 July-4 Aug part) decided that they wanted to play their music loudly so all might enjoy. Please folks, if you need to hear your music, please wear earbuds.

We don't eat dinner in the main dining room so we really can't rate that. We enjoyed the Windjammer nightly.

Shore excursions were rated very good but we did not do ship excursions but rather excursions with other CC members.

Port Reviews

King's Wharf

We actually did this on the previous cruise (24 July) and went from Kings Wharf to Hamilton. We stopped at the caves but no one wanted to pay the additional money to go in. We had a nice lunch at Swizzle Inn (additional of course) but since we saved time at the caves and in Hamilton (it was early on Sunday morning and everything was still closed), we enjoyed a delicious lunch.

Baltimore

This wasn't exactly an organized tour. Since we were B2B, we got off the ship in Baltimore and walked to Ft. McHenry. It was a delightful experience with reenactors, flag raising and cannons firing.
