Celebrity Silhouette Cruise Review by one ship two ship

Trip Details
  • Sail Date: May 2016
  • Destination: the British Isles & Western Europe

This was our first cruise with Celebrity. The staff in the buffet were cold and there was no service for beverages other than beer and liquor. The food was very average, many days the menu was a repeat of other days. Our suite was keep clean and the housekeeping staff were friendly. Our passports had to be surrendered upon embarkation of the ship and although we asked a number of people no one could tell us why. We received them back 5 days into the cruise. Transfers from the airport to the ships was adequate but the transfers back to the airport were very slow. They said it was a traffic issue but most people in the waiting lineup felt there was a shortage of shuttles, probably to save money. Unless Celebrity was the only line that offered destinations that other lines did not, I doubt that we would choose it again.

our driver was so comical, he certainly knew all the facts and his humour made us laugh all the trip

we only travelled to the shopping malls but the no vehicle traffic street mall was filled with entertainers and nice shops.

Greenock (Glasgow)

we did a bus tour and the volunteer ladies were great. the countryside was beautiful and lots of information about the locals

Le Havre

beautiful gardens and fountains in the city centre. so many locals do not speak English. wanted to see Juno beach but too expensive to do so.

we did Dover castle and it was most enjoyable but certainly a lot of walking. wear flat shoes, lots of cobble.

only stayed in the airport until transers were available. Very pricey.
