Azamara Quest 07/22/16 We have over 30 cruises with most of the major cruise lines and this 11 night Baltic cruise was one (if not the best) cruise vacations that we have ever taken. It was our 1st time on Azamara and we chose an interior cabin. Other than the lousy internet service and very limited complimentary beer choices, I really have nothing to complain about nor did I hear of any major complaints from our ship mates unlike most other cruise lines where there is always a long line-up at Guest Relations with people with “issues”. The ship itself looks quite beautiful after its recent dry dock with little sign of wear & tear. Our interior cabin was in good shape and offered extremely comfortable beds and down pillows. Our cabin #8021 was well located and quiet except for some muffled voices and sounds of drawers/closets opening & closing from next door. Azamara really takes advantage of the size and shallow draft of their ships and in most ports we were able to dock in the city centre while the big guys were docked miles away. It was great to be in the centre of town when you step off of the ship. Most other ships were docked miles away. All crew members were extremely friendly and quickly learned you name. The officers were always visible and approachable. The Captain had his young family onboard and it was lovely seeing him making the rounds with his 2 young boys by the hand. We found that the food was quite good but there is room for improvement as it is not nearly as good as their main competitor “O”. The AzAmazing Evening offered on most cruises was probably the highlight of our voyage. We were treated to a private concert by the entire St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra at their historic concert hall. This must have cost the cruise line a lot of money but it was complimentary for us. In summary, if you are contemplating an Azamara cruise, do it…..you will not regret it.
