We have taken a number of cruises but never one to Alaska and had never been on Princess Cruise Lines. Did our research and booked it based on the ports and land excursions available and the reputation of Princess Cruises. There were highs and lows but overall it was a mediocre experience.

The ship is smaller than we are used to cruising on and we understood that as it was built to go through the inner passage which excludes ships much bigger than this. Or so we thought. We saw a number of larger ships at each port that were a cut above the Island Princess.

On a high note, the cabin was really great and the cabin steward service outstanding and friendly and very helpful. Highly recommend getting a suite or mini suite as you can see so much from your balcony and you are always near land with stunning views throughout the whole cruise.
