This was my first time visiting Hawaii. I had done extensive research on the Pride of America & had read many reviews, both good & bad, from people who had taken this same cruise.
I was very pleasantly surprised at the overall positive experience I had! I had a mid-ship balcony cabin on Deck 9. Although, I knew the cabin was going to be 20% smaller than the traditional balcony cabin, my roommate & I managed with the small quarters we had. The bathroom was very tiny but functional.
I did have some issues with the refrigerator in our cabin. The first one leaked excessive water at the bottom. Got it replaced with another one that broke down the next day after it was installed. The 3rd one was the charm & finally worked!
very small cabin. refrigerator initially leaked water. had it replaced. 2nd refrigerator broke down on 2nd day in cabin. had to get another refrigerator. 3rd one worked! bathroom very small...virtually no counter space to put toiletries...used the bottom shelf under the sink after lining it with napkins, tissues, etc. there was no trashcan (or even room for one) in the bathroom. very tiny shower. bed was twin bed & was small but comfortable. balcony was small but functional. lots of shelves, drawers, cubbyholes for putting items in. closet sufficient for 2 people. had enough hangers. very small tv (flatscreen) - looked to be maybe 19" or 20" in size. cabin location was very convenient for areas on the ship that I went to the most...Aloha Cafe, Hollywood Theater, Atrium Lobby, Guest Relations, etc.
