We had two days in Budapest on our own.Met at the airport and transported to the hotel by a smart representative. The Marriott Courtyard was in a great position and near to the hop on and hop off stop.On the day of embarkation we were met at the hotel with other guests and taken to the boat. All our luggage was handled for us and put onto the boat and later into our cabins. We had a light lunch provided and then taken to our cabins. The cabins were compact but very comfortable. The whole trip was really well organised and the daily tours were by good local reps. For the people who didn't walk so fast, there was a group for easy walkers. This was gently paced but you still saw everything the other groups saw. The dining was excellent and the service really good. The tea/coffee machine broke down but the staff simply got you anything you wanted from the kitchen. The machine was quickly repaired the next day. We went on to Prague. The rep accompanied as to Prague and the hotel was in a good position near Wenceslas Square from where everything was walkable. The stay included a walking tour of the city which we abandoned half way through as the pace was too fast for my husband. A mini bus was available for those that chose to leave and it took us back to the hotel, from where we went out on our own at our own pace.

We really enjoyed the holiday but were pleased we took the extra days at the beginning in Budapest and at the end in Prague. Both were wonderful cities and very easy to explore on your own.
