We had been on a Baltic Cruise a few years ago on Celebrity Constellation and had enjoyed it then. This time on The Eclipse was also very good. It was our 3rd time on the Eclipse. The weather was excellent and we didn't need any of the warmer clothes we had brought with us. Our cabin was kept beautifully clean and tidy by Conford and Antonio. We opted for set dining second sitting. The food was excellent and we never had a bad meal. The dining experience was somewhat spoilt by the family of 40 sitting very close to us. They seemed unable to sit still for long and wandered from table to table during the order taking and in between courses. On the first evening one of the men was wearing shorts ( which are not allowed in the evenings) Another time a girl (not a child) was also in shorts, another in ripped jeans. A young man of about 20 wore a baseball cap to dinner every evening. If there is to be a dress code it should be enforced. It appeared that none of the staff said anything to them or were frightened to and just turned a blind-eye.
The theatre productions were excellent but unfortunately on one evening (an unfunny comedienne) we left early. We looked around and people were leaving in droves. Jayne Curry a wonderful singer and performer and all the other acts were very professional. They all made up for this poor one. Once again the group of teenagers and younger that always sat in the front 4 rows couldn't sit still and as soon as the performance started were walking up and down the aisles or across the front of the stage chatting to each other. There were no security people to say anything to them but we did notice on the last couple of evenings an announcement was made to ask under 18's not to sit in the front 3 rows. Did they take any notice? None at all, maybe it should have been announced in Spanish too. The shows we went to started at 10.30pm. The same young people would run along the corridors late at night ( not a parent in sight )
We have sailed with Celebrity many times and have always thoroughly enjoyed our cruises with them, unfortunately this large group spoilt it somewhat for us and also for many of the other guests. I do think Celebrity need to adhere to the dress codes ( they request) and theatre conduct ( they request) and not be afraid to speak up.
The cabin was clean and spacious. Very well kept by Conford and Antonio. We did store some things in the cupboard above the bed but it was a bit awkward to get the things out at times.
We went to Blankenburg on the shuttle bus. A lovely town with a promenade to stroll along and a sandy beach
We took the local bus and tram to Rostock and later another tram to Warnemünde. Took the Sbahn back to the port. We bought a daily ticket and as I speak German made it very easy to get around. We like Rostock and loved Warnemünde as it was lovely to walk along the promenade enjoy a drink in a bar. Would be a lovely place to stay for a longer holiday.
Very nice old town, very busy and enjoyed a coffee in oldest coffee house in Tallinn
We walked in to Stockholm which took about an hour. Had a lovely time there but got the bus back.
We walked in to the centre about 1/2 hour. Saw lots of sights, very busy and very enjoyable. Lovely around Nyhavn, enjoyed all the churches, Royal Palace etc.
We walked in to the centre. Enjoyed the market and all the others sights on this very hot day. Again very busy and bustling
