The embarkation and disembarkation were the fastest of any cruise I have ever taken. I thought the lounge performers were better than on other cruises and the nightly shows were good (with one exception) and the Beatles tribute band the night we were in Liverpool was great. The dining wasn't bad, but not up to the quality of Celebrity. One entree was so small it appeared to be an appetizer. A Tom Yum Gai soup was devoid of the advertised chicken and a "tomato coulis" was sliced tomatoes. On the other hand, their Beef Wellington was the best I've ever had. Service in the dining room was fine, but the waiter rarely smiled and several times questioned my dessert choices. The cabin was spotless. There was a problem once getting a new box of tissues that took a day and a half and two requests but, other than that, the hotel service was excellent. They had some enrichment lectures. The two on the Beatles and Edinburgh were good, but I wish they had more. As with most ships, the Internet was slow and expensive. This was my first cruise with Princess and while it was very enjoyable, I would rate it slightly below the two cruises I took on Celebrity.
The cabin was clean as can be with a mini-fridge and about 12-15 TV channels. The shower was cramped, but there was more than sufficient closet and drawer space for 2 people. Towels were replaced daily.
