The Ship:
The Summit is a lovely, medium size ship. We (myself, husband and 18-year-old daughter) had an outside cabin that was always clean (albeit small). I would spring for a veranda/balcony cabin next time. The team that cleaned our cabin was friendly, and efficient. The crew (and I mean everyone from the guys cleaning the deck all the way up to the captain and his staff) are sincerely friendly, helpful, and warm. Everyone goes out of their way to make the cruise a first class experience.
Some Tips:
Small but serviceable and always clean - there were 3 of us in an Ocean View stateroom. My 18 year-old daughter slept on a single that pulled out from a "chair/small sofa" that she said was very comfortable. Our double bed was also very comfortable. We were on deck 3 just feet away from Guest Relations - convenient and not noisy (somehow). Next time I would spring for a bigger room with a balcony...it would have been nice to just sit on my own balcony with my coffee in the morning or a glass of wine in the evening...
It's Bayonne, NJ - you can visit Liberty State Park...
