Like a majority of our shipmates my husband and I are retirees. We chose this cruise following a great Viking river cruise experience. We booked a 3 day precruise trip to Iceland. We enjoyed our time in Iceland, though I could have used an extra day to explore Reykjavik more thoroughly. The included excursions ended fairly late in the day leaving little time to see museums and shops before closing time. The Golden Circle tour was scenic and worth while. The Blue Lagoon was well worth a visit, my husband considered it the icing on the Iceland cake.

The Viking representatives were helpful upon arrival and departure in Iceland and also on arrival in Stockholm. Embarkation procedures went smoothly, we were issued our key cards and allowed immediate access to our stateroom. We felt pampered the whole trip. Our stateroom was spacious with a king size bed, ample closet and storage space and even heated flooring in the bathroom. The ship was beautifully decorated and was very clean. Early morning or late in the evening people could be seen cleaning and dusting.

One especially nice feature was the free laundry room with laundry soap automatically dispensed into the washer, if we had known how convenient it was we would have packed fewer clothes. The food at all the dining venues was excellent with attentive wait staff and prompt service. The two specialty restaurants required reservations but otherwise there was no additional cost. The only reason I didn't gain weight on the cruise was all the walking we did on our excursions and exploring the ports of call.

Cabin Review

Cabin deluxe veranda

The cabin was clean and spacious with ample closet and storage space. The closet had a motion sensor light inside. The bathroom though small as is typical on ship was nicely appointed with plenty of drawers and other storage areas. A hair dryer was provided. There was a mini fridge kept stocked with soda and some candy. There were large sliding glass doors leading to the veranda which had a table and chairs. There were also night lights leading to the bathroom and in the bathroom for easy navigation at night.
