We chose this cruise after receiving great reviews from family & friends about Royal Caribbean cruise lines. This was not our first cruise just first one with RC. I have to say was very disappointed. I was told when booking cruise we would be able to board the ship as early as 1030, which was not true. We were not able to board until1-2pm. The rooms aboard were extremely small in comparison to other cruise lines. I upgraded to a window room, which I would hardly call a port hole a window. I would not have paid extra for that! We sailed with 6 other family members all of which were adults, so we had 4 staterooms in total. One piece of our luggage did not arrive, so we went down to guest services to be told that they could not help us that it would eventually arrive. Our room attendant Darren took us down to deck 2 where there were many un-delivered bags. We were able to quickly find our missing bag. Darren was a fabulous room attendant.

I felt that the dining service by Marvin, Vicent and Robbie was outstanding. I had been told that the food on this cruise line would be so much better, which I would disagree. I had verified prior to leaving via the phone to RC customer service that there would be a formal night and was told that all Royal cruises 3 nights or longer have a formal night. This was not the case. All dinners were casual dress and many wore shorts or cover-ups into the dining room. This was very disappointing and would have packed entirely different. I was also told by the same representative Donna to wait to buy the internet package on the ship as it would be better pricing. I could have purchased it ahead of time for $9.09/day after boarding it was $12.99/day, so this was incorrect information as well.

There was only one show that I would consider a variety singing/dancing show and that was the last night. In the Royal Theater they only had 2 bar staff members working, so to get a drink in that lounge was all but impossible. We had bought the drink package and felt as though we had to stand in line at the bar to get drinks. On a cruise ship drinks should be offered throughout the ship without standing in line. It was the same way on the pool deck.

Cabin Review

Cabin outside with window

Our room attendant Darren could have not done a better job. He was extemely good at keeping our room clean! The room was much smaller than what I have cruised in the past. The shower could have not been smaller.

Port Reviews

Key West

We did not do an excursion, but did get off ship and walk down Duval Street and shop.
