Sailed on the Zuiderdam for a 12 day cruise to the Fjords and Highlands in June. Had a great time, really enjoyed ourselves. We've sailed the Zuiderdam twice before, so we were happy to visit her again!
Embarkation in Copenhagen was easy; although the line was long, it moved quickly. We were a guaranty veranda and ended up with cabin 8032, an accessible cabin. The shape of the cabin was a little odd, with the TV quite a long ways from the bed, only a chair and table (and a footstool at the desk), but the room was quite comfortable. The bathroom was large with a roll-in shower. Our room stewards were very good. We had one problem with the room towards the end of our voyage, but it was dealt with quickly and efficiently, and we had no further problems. The balcony was a delight.
We found the food to be quite good on the ship and enjoyed all our meals, whether at the Dive Inn by the pool, or the MDR, or the Pinnacle Grill. We weren't as enamored with their "as you wish dining". When we first boarded, we went to the dining room staff and made reservations for our first 3 nights, no problem. After that, it was more difficult to get a table for 2,unless it was for a very early or very late time. I think I prefer the set dining times, as you have the same table all the time and you have the chance to get to know your wait-staff. I don't think we ever sat at the same table, and our wait-staff was always different.
