Convenience and the fact that we are Diamond members with Royal Caribbean(10+ cruises). The ship was very clean and separate pools & hot tubs for kids & adults. We had a great room steward who took care of our needs too. Embarkation was good but disembarkation was a nightmare until the cruise director came by and got us by all the lines diamonds dont have to do and off the ship.
The food in the dining room was average. Not what we have been used to with RCCL. There was no "wow" to speak of in the food selection. Wait staff was just average too. The diamond lounge manager didnt socialize much with the diamond plus people very much, just sitting at his chair in the corner on the computer the whole time every evening and was actually rude to me when I took several pictures in the room and said I needed to ask 1st to take a picture. We complained later and was told that it probably be his last outing & thats it.
The Winjammer cafe had the same exact food every day that was boring with all the cut backs. had just the same 2-3 pieces of cake and some custard and some cookies...etc. none of the fabulous black forest cakes, chocolate moose cakes and I didnt ever see any cheese cake on the whole cruise in either dining room or Winjammer cafe. Some of the wait staff on deck werent as friendly as in the past and there were a few that were great.
No issues with stateroom and service was great.
We all just shopped at the ports, as we have done a lot of seeing the islands in previous visits.
Just shopped at the port area.
