Pre-cruise stay at Country Inns and Suites, near the port. Free shuttle to and from cruise ship. Good continental breakfast. Free parking for duration of cruise. It's now our Go To Place. Paul Cuesta, Alexia, Vi and the rest of the crew at the Country Inns and suites will really take good care of you.
Have cruised Valor before and she's just our size, not too large, not too small. Our Dining staff was the absolute best we've ever enjoyed on a cruise. Room steward was hit or miss. Shows and on board entertainment showing their ages and need revamping. Shout out to the musical group Music on Boardwalk, as they attracted a huge loyal following. Special Shout out to our "Toron(silent t)o" entertainer, the hostess with the mostest, Fluffy, who really kept us in the loop, was always sparkly afire, and just a hoot to be with. Why she's not a CD yet, we'll never know.
Note to John Heald...Fluffy is ready to be the next Carnival CD, and you should do so before we lose her to another line. I would imagine her easily attracting the CD level opportunity with other cruise lines.As devoted Carnival fans, we want to keep her in the family.
Cabin Review
Interior
Tight for four, but then again, we weren't in it much. Cabin service was spotty. Lack of bathroom ventilation meant steamy mirrors and a concentration of expressed body function odors. Bring a non flammable air freshener. Trust me on this.
Port Reviews
Grand Turk
Would gladly trade a St Kitts day for a day and a half or two on Grand Turk.
St. Kitts (Port Zante)
It's a depressing place. Next time, we'll stay on board.
San Juan
Barely better than St Kitts. Perhaps an excursion would have been better. The old San Juan tour was a waste of time, and a long walk through a plethora of touristy shops selling the same old made in China junk at outrageous prices (plus the 11% sales tax..)
Port Canaveral (Orlando)
Stayed at Country Inns and Suites. Free parking for duration of cruise. Free shuttle to and from cruise ship. We'll continue to stay with the fine folks.
