We chose this cruise, British Isles Discovery, for the itinerary as we had not been to most of the places visited. We nearly cancelled after reading reviews of the Magellan on this site, as they were generally awful. We are so glad we didn't cancel as we had a wonderful time, in spite of the typical Scottish weather!

All of the things that mattered: comfortable and clean cabin, good food and entertainment more than met our hopes. The staff seemed well managed, motivated and very pleasant which was an achievement given the many nationalities. At some of the ports a tender service was needed and it was a bit worrying to see quite a number of passengers with limited mobility attempting the journeys even though the pre-cruise information made it clear that they may not be allowed abaord a tender.

We do have a suggestion to improve the entertainment at Scott's Nightclub and that would be a couple of nights karaoke as simply taped music is not an attraction. My husband and I hope to cruise again on the magellan at some time in the not too distant future.
