Sail Date: Jul 2016

I travelled July 2016 onboard Thomson Majesty mainly because I liked the sound of the Western Med itinery which included Rome and Sorrento. Having sailed on 3 other Thomson ships on 4 previous occasions as well as RC and NCL so can make a good comparison.

I had read very negative reviews about Majesty so was prepared for the worst. Upon arriving at the airport, Thomson Rep directions were very poor and there was an absence of staff. Once myself and other lost passengers found the bus staff to take us to the Port we enjoyed a short bus journey that was not unpleasant. Having arrived early evening, we did not have to wait long in the queue to embark Majesty. The welcome was very pleasant.

We were told the drill would take place at 10.30 p.m and had time to get a bit to eat. We were late for the drill and no one seemed to be bothered unlike other drills were it was made a priority and they did not commence until everyone had arrived. My fault, however, just saying....

Cabin Review

Dirty, no deep clean but kept tidy. Cleaned once per day and towells changed once. Sheets not changed during the week. Bathroom in need of upgrade but shower very good albeit a bit grubby. Adequate space because it was plus and ordinary cabins too small to be considered adequate in my opinion. Would recommend deck 7/8 and outside cabin as the day light makes a considerable difference to the cabin appearance and ambiance.
