Chose cruise because it fitted in with our dates. From start to finish this cruise was excellent. The ship was immaculate, the crew always helpful and the food delicious and far too tempting.
Our only disappointment was as we chose anytime dining we had difficulty getting a dinner table at times other than at 6pm ish or 9pm plus. Although we were mindful booking we never seemed to get a mainstream time, However after a bit of digging around we discovered that most of the bookings were made online and as we had not taken any tech with us we were unable to break into the booking system. This is not made clear and although it didn't detract from our holiday it was an inconvenience.
Shows and performances in theatre were good. Several west end performers appeared and gave tip top turns.
Cabin first class, bed v comfy, bathroom good, balcony a bonus.
I must say the two cabin stewards we had were top class. It was a pleasure to return to our cabin each day they swept in and returned us to 5* without fail.
We took taxi into centre by market. Disappointing, however we walked on and came across waterfront with cafes and mixed shops again you couldn't fault the welcome from the local people.
Delightful port of call, chairlift from sealevel to town. Views stunning.
We made our own way to acropolis using the hop on buses parked about 200yds from dock, they drop you at acropolis. Ticket queues are lengthy so an early start is advisable.
It was very hot so we decided against Ephesus and wandered around town. Most enjoyable, locals very helpful and pleasant.
We took a bus from port to town centre. Too far to walk. Super town, lovely views, windmills, winding cobbled streets.
We caught hydrofoil to Capricorn. What a fabulous day we joined a tour offered on the ferry, e20, exceptional value for money.
Capri is a magical island not to be missed.
Rome is a city not to be missed, even the small taste you get in a days visit makes one want to return and soon.
