Royal Suite Surprise! This cruise was a celebration for our daughter's graduation from residency. We stayed a couple of days in San Juan at the Condado Vanderbilt. We stayed on property, but Our daughter and son in law were on the go constantly doing everything from kayaking in Bioluminescent Bay, hiking in the rainforest (El Yunque) and a little shopping. We have cruised with RCCL many times before, but this cruise topped list of the best. There were 14 people along for the celebration cruise and all had an excellent experience on this ship. The Adventure is going to get a makeover in October, but I was surprised at the great condition she is still in even before her makeover.
This was the first time we have stayed in the Royal Suite and hope it is not our last! What an amazing experience from embarkation to debarkation. Ryno (Suite Concierge for Adventure) took great care of us even starting before the cruise by arranging a cocktail party in the RS for our new graduate and all 13 others. He had Amar (bartenter in the Schooner Bar) set up the bar in the suite with every libation we would need and had Bruno (Piano player from the Schooner Bar) not only play the piano, but set up his keyboard and microphone so he could sing and get us in the partying mood! We were all up dancing by the end of the nearly 2 hour party.
Embarkation day was a breeze. The ship didn't take off until 8:00pm so we decided not to arrive until 2:00 pm. There were about 1000 people in line and we were ready for quite the wait to get through security, but that never happened. As soon as I walked up to the luggage porter, he knew we were staying in the Royal Suite and had a nice gentleman escort us right inside to the front of the security lines and directly to the check-in counter where Ryno was waiting for us to escort us all the way to the cabin! Our daughter was saying "What is going on?!?) as she didn't know that we booked the RS. hehe ;)
