Our family just took the four night cruise to the Bahamas. We had 31 family members ranging from 10 months to 82 years old. This is our fifth RCCL cruise, but the first for most of our family members.
After reading the reviews for this ship, I decided to plan our own activities. I'm so glad I did. The cruise director, Susan, was rarely heard from or seen. Normally, on Royal Caribbean Cruises, the cruise director is everywhere, announcing the day's agenda, walking and chatting with guests, etc. The previous reviews were spot on about there not being a lot of cruise activities. I highly suggest you plan to bring your own if that is what you like to do.
The first day went great. We got to the port at 10:30 am and were on board by 11:15 am. We ate at the windjammer and the food was the same as it is for all cruises. I did not have any complaints. The group meet in the Viking Lounge for a kick off, we had dinner and then we did the rock climbing wall. We did not go to the show.
It was small and tidy. Bring a suitcase to go under your bed. Store all suitcases in your closet. This will free up the room. Expect it to be small. Keep things tidy and you'll have a nice time. I purchased roses to brighten the room.
Bring your own shampoo. It's cozy and cute, there is no couch, we never watched the tv, and we didn't spend a lot of time in the cabin. The adjoining cabin door does not open fully, it's kinda of funny, expect it to be small, enjoy it for just that. It's not the 'Love Boat' cabins.
It was very hot and crowded
Easy to get on board! Took a shuttle from our hotel.
