The main choice for this cruise was the ports of call. Particularly St Petersburg Russia which was at the top of my husband's "bucket" list. The ship and ports surpassed our expectations. We had the perfect balcony cabin 8254 which was near everything we wanted to visit (elevator, main dining room for example). The food was excellent. Most nights we opted to dine in the main dining room. The few nights we returned late from touring we went to the buffet on Deck 14. The buffet extravaganza on day 12 was incredible. The huge ice sculptures were beautiful and the food presented was indeed extraordinary. We discovered the Sky Lounge a few days before the end of the cruise and really enjoyed watching the sun set from there. Very romantic place. The martini bar was fun. Bartenders were very funny and great mixologists.

Nice touch was with the ship providing bath robes for us. We had requested assistance for my husband's CPAP machine and the ship provided us with distilled water and an electrical extension cord.

The shows we attended were superior and better than any of the ones we've seen on other cruises. We aren't show attenders for the most part and as such we really enjoyed these shows. The room stewards we had did a superb job. We rarely saw them but if we had a request they followed through immediately.

Deluxe Veranda 1A

Cabin 1A

Loved our cabin. I'm not sure what the rating was so I picked the first one. It was close to elevators without hearing them. Also close to venues we wanted to attend such as the main dining room and the martini bar. Nice touch with ship providing bath robes for us.

We had requested assistance for my husband's CPAP machine and the ship provided us with distilled water and an electrical extension cord.

Port Reviews

Brugge (Bruges)

Very cute beach town. Looked like a great place to vacation for a week on the waterfront. Lots of placed to stay.

Stockholm

Took the hop on, hop off bus which was nice especially since it had wi-fi.

Tallinn

It was very cold and windy walking from the pier but was we got closer to town the wind died down. We enjoyed visiting the small shops along the way and wound up in the town center where there was a medieval festival of sorts going on. The square had lots of vendors selling unique good and they were all dressed for the event. Lots of entertainment going on as well. We really enjoyed this port.

Copenhagen

Nice port. Enjoyed the brief visit.
