This was our first experience on a river cruise. My husband and I can't say enough about how wonderful Viking treated us. From our first meeting by our ship cruise director, Petra, to the excursions, the meals, the attention to our needs and the friends we made. There is no favorite excursion, because they were all superb with excellent tour guides. Every evening we were given an overview of the next day's activities and then we would go to dinner. After dinner there was some form of entertainment and then we would return to our room to find a printed version of the next day's activities. We toured the Black Forest, Strausberg, Cologne, Heidelberg, saw castles on the mountain sides, toured cathedrals, palaces, windmills and learned so much history at each location. We traveled with another couple but still made new friends at meals. We will definitely take another Viking River Cruise.
