Chose this cruise based on prior experience with Viking River Cruise. Viking Star is not categorized as an all suite ship but it certainly feels like one. Service is impeccable food in every venue is better than outstanding. You feel like you are dining in a five star restaurant every time. The included shore excursion in every port is an added plus, with the optional excursions at very reasonable cost. Shore excursion staff is magnificent with a representative on every single tour. Never waiting in any lines for anything. Crew was exceptional and staff to guest ratio is far above any norm I have experienced. Did not miss a casino or ships photographers being available, it was actually a pleasure. The ship itself is the best design and engineered I have ever experienced on a ship of any size. The ships stability is beyond belief for its size. It is very smooth even in rough seas which we experienced one night. The ports of the Grand Mediterranean cruise were ideal as many cannot be accessed by larger ships. Viking Ocean cruises also featured a couple of overnights in port, a nice plus. Cabins have plenty of storage space and a number of unique features, such as heated floor in the bathroom. This is our ocean cruise line for life.
