After avoiding Viking for several years because we could not stand their TV adverts, our minds were changed by the very positive recommendations of several friends. We were not disappointed. The only reason we did not award five stars was the tiny cabin with two single beds, but we were adv ised that this ship s being withdrawn at the ned of the 2016 season. We had the opportunity to wander around a new Viking boat and the acommodation seemed to be up to a much better standard.
Other than the cabin issue, we could not fault the cruise. The staff and Cruise Director could not be more helpful, the food was excellent and the tours well thought through with very good guides. Although we lost a days cruising (but not a day on board) due to low water in the Elbe, we were advied that the new ships have less draught and the itineraries are being revised for next season.
Would we travel again with Viking? We've already booked!
