The destinations were great and the ship itself was fine......the staff on the other hand! Our cabin steward was told everyday that we needed 4 bath towels and he never the entire 12 days provided them, we went to get off the towels ourselves. The cabin was never dusted or vacuumed. We found what I can only hope was wine splattered across the ceiling which was only cleaned after we had a fit about it. I would go on this ship again, but only with the understanding it's a sleeping bed only, all the other amenities are way over priced. $25 a day to sit in the solarium? Really???? The dining room staff was amazing and the food was actually pretty good. Drinks are a bit on the expensive side. We did not participate in shore excursions because we could book them independently cheaper. I would like to do this itinerary again, but it will be on Disney Cruise Lines!!

Cabin BD D525
The room was great but the steward was not. This particular room has a tender below it, so on tender days, it sounded like a helicopter landing in the room and started at about 530am.....thank goodness it only happened twice.

Wow! The titanic experience was amazing. I recommend the discovery tour, as they explain the design of the building which you would never know mimics Titanic. The other "dry dock" Titanic was fitted out in is about a 15 min walk from the museum and has additional entrance fees..FYI.
After the museum, it was recommended to take the "black cab tour" so we went downtown to the visitors center and they arranged to whole thing for us. What an amazing tour. It's about an hour or so tour in this taxi, but it explains the entire IRA conflict and takes you to the actual we'll that still divides the city to this day. A must see tour for sure.

went to the Titanic museum and it was fabulous. The dock the passengers left from for the Titanic is still there, barely, but was very cool to see. HighLynn recommend the museum. When we exited, there was a motorized train outside that took us on about an hour tour of the city, which was amazing. They stopped at the church at the top of the hill and gave us time to go inside and look around.....also very cool tour. Spent remainder of the afternoon in a local pub and the locals were quite friendly and eager to talk to us.

Guiness Storehouse..need to not say more. Get there on your own, taxi's very reasonable. This was a fabulous tour and it has turned me into a Guiness drinker!! Skip the top floor, initially, and go to where you can poor your own Guiness, that was very cool. After that, we went down to the Temple Bar area and enjoyed some local food and brew. Cruise lines did provide, for a fee, transportation back to the ship, but we found we could negotiate a better rate with the taxi drivers and get some local history out of them while driving back.

Took a taxi to see the Royal Yacht Britannia. What an amazing boat. It's a self guided tour but they have plenty of docents that are more then eager to answer your questions. A great inside to have the royal family vacationed. We taxi' back into the city and enjoyed the Royal mile.....great shopping!!!

Took a taxi into the city, they will negotiate a flat fee for the 30 min ride and our driver took us back later in the day for the same rate. Did not care for Glasgow. It's a moderately big city with mostly department store shopping....nothing charming about it.

  • Invergordon (Inverness)
Before we left on our trip, we arranged a tour with Invergordon Shore Excursions. The owner, Nigel, set us up with Jim as our driver...highly recommend him!!! He took us up to the Falls of Shin, a wonderful local restaurant for lunch and then we had 2 whisky tours. In between, he took us up to Royal Dornach, so we could see a Scottish golf course. We had a wonderful day and would recommend James to anyone.

Pre booked a tour with Military Might D-Day tours. Ask for Valerie Vaultier, an amazing tour guide. It took about an hour to get to Normandy beaches from Le Havre, but Valerie leaves in the Normandy area and was very eager to share her knowledge of the area and the war sights. We were able to see the German bunkers, Omaha beach and the American cemetery...and she provided pictures from 1944, so you could actually see what the area was like back then. She shared stories about her grandparents who lived there during the occupation, all very fascinating. We enjoyed a fabulous lunch at a local cafe that she recommended. This was the highlight of our vacation and highly, highly recommend military might tours.

The Beatles Experience was an amazing tour. It is very easily walkable from the ship, but unfortunately we encountered a drenching rain storm halfway on our walk. It's probably about a mile away, but sure didn't seem like it. There is a free bus at the terminal that took us up the hill to the church, which was beautiful. Down the street from there is a place called the Philharmonic Pub (or something close to that) it was recommended by a local and what a fabulous place...each room has its own character and it's something to see...and the food was awesome too! We ended up walking back to the ship from there which took about 30 mins, but it's all downhill, so a nice walk.
