We chose Viking ocean cruises because we thoroughly enjoyed the 2 Viking River cruises we had taken. We have "cruised" in the past with Carnival, Holland America and Princess so we had some "reference" points.
As one could expect, Viking got it right on designing this new ship. We were impressed with almost all aspects of the cruise...dining, cabin, ship's facilities and crew service were superb.
The meeting at the airport in Bergen was a bit disorganized but after that the embarkation went well. The biggest issue was the poorly arranged and scheduled shore excursions in Norway after we left Bergen. Many "included" shore excursions were "sold out" before we had an opportunity to select anything. Many shore excursions were obviously new to Viking and were not very well run nor worth the time except for the different scenery. I hate to say it but the Princess Cruise we took to Norway 2 years ago had much better shore excursions and better ports.
Cabins are "first class" although a bit small. Limited shelf or drawer space for clothes !
