We chose this based on a recommendation from a friend. We also wanted to see these countries, but work out of one base.
We cannot praise this experience with Viking enough! All the employees we encountered were "over-the-top" in their area; from housekeeping, restaurant employees, tour & transportation guides....all the way to captain, these people worked to make your trip perfect! One example of their commitment to their patrons was I became ill (flu) and they secured a doctor for me that could come on board ship to treat me!!! The meals were excellent with a great variety from which to choose. Our room was great with a great bed & linens, along with a small but very adequate bath facility.
To sum up our feelings.....I've said, Viking needs to open a second business. They could write the book on Customer Service and train many American companies on how to implement TRUE customer service!!!!!
We chose a cabin with the small window because we felt we wouldn't be there enough to warrant the extra money to have a veranda. As it turned out, the public areas were extremely nice and a great way to relax. The room was very comfortable with a large amount of storage. The bed was comfortable with great linens and lighting above for perfect reading. The bath was compact, but very efficient.
One of our favorites. Rich in history and a very knowledgable guide!
Beautiful old city and delicious lunch.
