We have done a number of river cruises with Viking but this was our first ocean cruise with this line.

As always with Viking, the service was excellent. The staff was uniformly friendly and helpful. The cruise and excursions were well organized and varied. The ship is beautiful and sailed smoothly with minimal roughness even in a storm. We especially appreciated the small size of the passenger list - just 930 travelers max - and the focus of the group - adult English-speakers only. These combined to mean no long lines, no waits while information was repeated in different languages and a emphasis on cultural experiences: no gambling,no Las Vegas-style floor shows, or children.

Port talks were very informative and the enrichment speakers were excellent and very enlightening. Read more
