I received the cruise as a gift. I had been on the Gem once before and truly enjoyed it as the ship is smaller than the Breakaway and the rooms, food, and service are 100 times better. I would suggest anyone to take this smaller ship and enjoy the great dining rooms and shows. Our room was an outside cabin so we had a view when docking or when just checking the weather before we left the room. We choose free style dining and never had any problems getting seated. There were a lot of activities on board at all times. We enjoyed our stay in Nassau which was great since they had to fix something on the ship and it gave us almost 2 days to explore Nassau. The stop in Florida to me was relaxing as we stayed on the ship. The last cruise on the Gem last year we went alligator hunting in the backwaters. The other trips to Disney or the Space center were very expensive and some were to long for seniors like myself.
